6/5/2017 2 Comments The One Who Holds the StarsI love "Stars" by Skillet. The lyrics show both the huge glories and beautiful intricacies of God. The lyrics inspire me with awe and wonder, that God Almighty cares deeply about me and the struggles I go through, and that He is strong enough to change me.
I spent this past week in Hawaii for the first time. Since I live on the mainland, there were a lot of first experiences. It was my first time on an island; my first time wearing a real, sweet-smelling, soft plumeria lei; my first time seeing a crab in real life; my first time trying papaya; my first time swimming in the Pacific Ocean; my first time hiking through a tropical rainforest; my first time getting mangoes from a mango patch. This probably makes me sound naïve, but every bit of it was like an amazing adventure. And though all the nature and flowers and food around me smelled and tasted delicious, the most glorious part of my stay was - the stars. And though they had always been right above me, my home on the mainland was so surrounded by city lights that I could only see the orange glow and maybe six or seven bright stars. But this.
